I am sitting in seat 36K, a Premium Economy seat, on this China Airlines 777-ER flight to Taipei from Los Angeles. As my original flight was from Seattle to Taipei was cancelled at the gate, I am effectively downgraded from a direct Delta One Suites flight to China Airlines Premium Economy via LAX. Not happy. I could have stayed for 2 extra days in Seattle at Delta’s expense and had my Delta One Suites flight back home, but I have another flight a few hours after landing.

Originally I am re-booked on Economy, but I complain at the China Airlines boarding gate and they put me into Premium Economy. Business is out as it is full. In hindsight the Economy cabin is not full and I could have had a whole row to myself. Oh well.

Anyhow, the seat is ok. There is no-one next to me. But I can’t stretch out over 2 seats as the thick armrest separating them does not move.

Dinner (at midnight) is served shortly after take-off, and it is quite tasty. The main is similar to what I ate in the Delta One lounge at SEA. I watch a movie but don’t finish it and fall asleep for about 8 out of the 13 hours which is pretty good, just getting up once or twice to use the bathroom.

A couple of hours before touchdown breakfast is served, a beef noodle dish. It’s ok.

This isn’t the review I was hoping to write, but I’m back home now. CMI-DFW, DFW-SEA, SEA-LAX, LAX-TPE. Not the best use of a day.
