I have been sent an email inviting me to view a 90 minute TimeShare presentation with Minor Vacation Club and in return for just USD200, receive a family room for 3 nights, return airport transfers, daily breakfast for 2, and a THB5000 (about USD200) voucher to use at the hotel – my answer – it’s an obvious ‘yes’.

After we are dropped off at the hotel by the included transport, we are warmly greeted and give a ‘welcome ceremony’ of washing our hands and a welcome drink.

We are shown to our room on the 3rd floor of the main wing, and although there is no river view, there is a balcony and the room is quite large with separate shower and bath.

Over the course of the next few days we gorge on one of the largest breakfast spreads I have seen, use the fantastic gym to burn all the calories we stuffed during breakfast, use the sauna and steam room, relax by the pool, and generally enjoy our stay.

The staff here are exceptional, and the free hotel shuttle boat is a fun way to get to the main centre of Bangkok.

Oh, and the presentation? Nah, we didn’t join the Vacation Club. USD86K is a bit out of our league 😅
