I am sitting in seat 31K, the first row of the Premium Economy cabin on this Singapore Airlines B777-300ER flight bound for Sydney. The just under 8 hour flight is the longest I have taken in 2 years.

The seat is reasonably comfortable and as it is the first row in the cabin I have ample leg room. There is a strange console in front of the seat where the TV monitors come out.
The meal service starts 90 minutes into the flight. I have ordered ‘Book the Cook’ and it is supposed to be a creamy garlic chicken, but there is no cream and no garlic whatsoever. Perhaps my meal was incorrectly labelled. It is not particularly tasty, but the coookies and cream ice-cream is OK when paired with a Baileys straight.

I manage to sleep for a couple of hours, and when I wake up, am feeling peckish, so ask for a Chicken and Mayo Cibatta, brownie (which turns out to be a muffin) and a Singapore Sling.
For the rest of the flight I watch a couple of movies. All in all it is pretty uneventful and I wonder if it was worth the 30K Krisflyer miles. The same amount of points gets me Business Class on the SIN-TPE route which is excellent value.
