I am sitting in seat 15A, on this Boeing B787-10 Singapore Airlines flight bound back to Singapore

After being ushered to my seat and introduced to the Cabin staff member, I am asked which post-take-off drink I would like. I choose the 2012 Piper-Heidsieck Brut Vintage, Champagne, France. I’m not generally a fan of Champagne, but looking at the year I can’t resist. This comes with a packet of mixed cashews and almonds.

A late lunch service starts with a seared tuna loin and garlic bread, and then I have the braised beef with mashed potatoes. This is a bad choice – the meat is slightly hard which serves me right as I have had way too much meat during my visit to Taiwan – looking forward to reverting to being a ‘Pescatarian’ when I return home. I have this with a glass of 2012 Bodegas LAN Viña Lanciano Reserva, Rioja, Spain.

I finish with a chocolate cake and fruit salad, and a glass of Baileys. I skip on the cheese plate.

During my meal I watch a new movie – ‘Old’ – which is not too bad. The screen is huge and the noise-cancelling headphones provided are pretty good quality.
The seat seems to be narrower than the flight over, with no compartments to store my things, but this time it converts into a fully-flat bed with the press of a button – no assistance required by the Cabin crew.
I sleep like a baby for a good 90 mins of then just under 4-hour flight.
