Flight Review: QF81 – SYD – SIN

I am sitting in seat 24A, a window seat in a 2-4-2 configured Qantas Airbus A330-300 flight bound for Singapore. It is comfortable with sufficient legroom for an economy seat, and as an added bonus there are no passengers in my immediate surrounding area. Being a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) designated flight, it is only 50% occupied.

After an on-time take-off, service begins with Aperitifs, and I have a vodka and ginger ale with some mixed nuts. Shortly after, we’ll into my first movie, the lunch service starts and I choose the Braised wagyu beef with broccoli, carrots and soft polenta – delicious, and complement it with a glass of Australian Barossa Valley Shiraz. An old-time Splice ice-cream finishes the meal.

A row of 4 seats is empty next to me so I get to sleep for about 2 hours which is a great bonus. I watch a couple of movies and just before landing we get an arrival meal consisting of noodles and a coke.

All in all it is a pretty easy flight.
