Back again for a one-night birthday stay for 28K points and upgraded to the highest available room category due to 100% occupancy, an ‘Executive King Plus’ room.

The room is spacious, but definitely in need of some TLC. On the positive, it is on the Executive Floor, has a balcony, and a bathtub. Other than that, nothing much else is a standout (room-wise).

What does stand out though is the service. So much better than our last stay. There is an almost genuine excitement when I am recognised by a staff member at the front desk at check-in who beams and says ‘welcome back Mr. Xxx’.

In the room is a welcome amenity with a hand written card by 4 or 5 staff members, wishing me a happy birthday. And shortly after entering the room there is a knock on the door and a staff member brings in a cake and bottle of sparkling wine with 2 Champagne flutes.

I don’t visit the lounge, pool, or gym during this stay, but have complimentary Diamond Hhonors breakfast which is a choice of set menus. It’s not too bad.

A short stay, but a pleasant one.
