A huge resort about 2 hours south of Hanoi, Emeralda resort could do with a refurbishment to bring it back to its glory days of old.

Complete with a lake, heated indoor and outdoor pool, fitness centre, yoga room, karaoke boxes, conferencing facilities, and 2 restaurants, this fully integrated resort has everything you need so you don’t need to venture outside – not that there is anything to see though.

My room is large, about 50 sqm, with a seperate bath and shower, TV with cable, and well, that’s about it. Each room is part of a 8-unit cluster spread throughout the resort. Due to its size, there is a buggy service that takes you to and from your room if required.

Breakfast each day is quite basic, and the quality is so so. Same goes for the conference lunch buffet each day which is hit and miss.

On the plus side WiFi is strong, the service is warm, and there is quite stunning scenery.
