On this return leg from a whirlwind Singapore jaunt to visit partner and friends, I am flying on the new Thai Airways Airbus A350-900 (359) in aisle seat 36C. It is a very spacious and modern Economy seat with all the trimmings including large AV screen, footrest, and USB charger. Happy!
At check-in prior to boarding I asked if there were any upgrade opportunities to Business Class and was told yes, for only SG $185 – which is a bargain BUT as I didn’t have any check in luggage and I had just come from a BBQ and this not in the slightest bit hungry, I decided against it. Normally though, I would have jumped at the chance.
Anyway, back to Economy class…
The cabin is quite full – it looks like all seats are taken. The meal service begins shortly after the seatbelt signs are extinguished and we are offered a choice of seafood or chicken. I choose the seafood but don’t eat it / instead opting only for the tiramisu-type cake dessert. But it looks quite good and comes with a pasta salad entree.
I finish the last 30 minutes of the movie I was watching on the leg over – ‘Murder On The Orient Express’ and then watch a BBC music festival for the remainder of the short 2-hour flight.
All in all it is an easy flight.
But RUINED with a no-gate arrival – yep it’s the bus to the terminal….😭😤
Rating: 5.5/10 (not the airline’s fault but overall experience diminished!)
