A short bus ride takes us from gate F2 to our Thai Smile aircraft. I have chosen seat 34A, the first row behind Smile class in a relatively empty plane.
There is ample legroom on this Airbus A320-200 aircraft, much more than a standard Thai Airways or SQ aircraft, and the recline is generous as well.
As soon as I sit down a flight attend comes over to confirm my Seafood meal pre-order with a smile. I am pretty sure I know what it is going to be as I have flown this route a number of times before.
Shortly after takeoff my meal comes first and it is indeed what I had expected – a smoked salmon and potato salad, which juice and a Thai-style rice and black bean dessert.
There are no entertainment options on this aircraft but I have my iPad with me and watch episode 1 of the second season of ‘The Crown’.
There is a bit of a delay once we reach the air bridge – it is broken….so the plane moves backwards and goes to another spot so we can all alight. It takes about 10 minutes in total.
All in all it is a very pleasant flight which leaves and arrives per schedule.
