Hotel Review: Hashimi Hotel, Arab Quarter, Old City Jerusalem

Ever since I saw the website to this hotel I knew this was the one I wanted to stay in to tick my bucket list of staying in the Old City.

Upon check-in I am warmly welcomed by a lovely lady who spends quality time explaining the hotel facilities and local area. My immediate impression is warmth.

My twin-bedded room, although basic, has a large flat screen TV, dressing table, shower and single sink, with the highlight being the most beautiful view of the Golden Dome and city panorama.

Unfortunately due to renovations below, the water in the room is switched off but I am able to utilize another room to shower. By day 2 this is fixed.

Breakfast is plentiful, with local delights and an egg station.

What impresses me is the outstanding service by all staff – a warm smile and hello is greeted at each touch point throughout the hotel.

After 2 weeks of traveling I get my clothes washed, dried, and folded for a nominal cost of 50 Shekels – about $16. Not bad considering a do-it-yourself wash at my previous hostel was 20 Shekels just for the washing only.

A great stay and highly recommended.
