Certainly a few steps down from our previous stay at the Conrad Macau, this hotel on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong is simple, yet well positioned for the markets and entertainment of Hong Kong.
We check in Josephine, a guest service agent at the front desk who welcomes us to the hotel and provides us with an upgrade, as Diamond Honors members, to a corner King room on the 17th of 20 floors. It is small, about 25 sqm, with basic amenities and a shower-only bathroom. Spending 3 nights here is a challenge in terms of space.
The outdoor pool on the roof is closed until later in the year due to the season, so for fitness I utilize the small gym adjacent to the pool. Again, it is simple but has the requisite machines to work off the breakfast.
Breakfast. Kind of like a Yum Cha restaurant back home, the buffet is simple and the same on all 3 mornings we eat there. The staff are responsive and efficient. Tables are quickly cleaned. The buffet replenished regularly.
Was tickled pink when Josaphine brought a bottle of wine and a card to celebrate my birthday – very kind gesture indeed.
The definite pros of this property are that it is part of the Hilton brand so the benefits of Diamond status are useful. Position – close to the MTR station. Additionally in terms of price, it’s pretty good value. And service is warm as well – always a good sign of a good hotel.
