Hilton Hotel Shanghai

My taxi from the Doubletree Pudong to the Shanghai is double the time yet half the price than the ride from the Maglev to the Doubletree – work that out….

As I enter the hotel the doorman warmly greets me and escorts me to the front desk. I queue in the HHonors line – quite long and seemingly not enough staff present. Nonetheless when it is my turn I am told as a Diamond HHonors member I have been upgraded to a Panorama Suite which is a nice ‘surprise’.

The room is large, separate bedroom and living area, and….not one, not two, but 3 showers and 2 baths; 2 bathrooms (2 showers in one of them), 2 TVs on the wall, heaps of space!

The pool/Spa area is lovely. I use it a few times during my stay. A massive hot tub, small freezing cold tub, steam room, sauna, and generous relaxation room. The gym looks good but I swim everyday instead.

Love the Executive Lounge. There is one lady in particular, Diana – who is fabulous. A hard worker, a brilliant source of information, and a shining star! The food is good; not a massive selection, but changes everyday. The Shanghainese Dumplings are to die for. Breakfast is also ample, lots of choices, and delicious.

All is all a very pleasant stay!
