This is my first stay at a Double Tree
and I am so impressed. As I walk into the lobby, having successfully passed
security and baggage scanning, I am welcomed with a smile and a warm signature Double Tree cookie – kind of like a ‘Mrs Fields’ chewy choc-chip
cookie.
The friendly guy at reception tells me as a valued HHonors diamond member I have been upgraded to the top level room – The Terrace Suite – and what a suite it is – a huge bedroom with separate living room, 2nd toilet, and a massive outdoor terrace with large outdoor spa!
Everyone is so attentive and caring – I feel like a Rock Star! This extends to my workout at the gym with a warm welcome, and refreshing of my water every 20 mins or so. The gym is modern and well equipped with ‘Precor’ machines. There is a lovely outdoor swimming pool but unfortunately it is closed due to maintenance.
The executive lounge is lovely and the food and service plentiful. I only have a wine (which is re-filled) and a few snacks which is plenty for my dinner.
I am so tired from my recent traveling that after flicking through the channels on cable, I fall asleep on the most comfortable bed at around 9pm.
The next morning I choose my complimentary breakfast in the restaurant adjacent to the lobby. What a spread! And so many staff – probably a ratio of 3 to 1. That being said it is a new hotel and I am guessing occupancy is low. So many delicious Indian delights freshly cooked and brought to my table. Again, I am taken back by the attentive service and friendliness of the staff. It is such a pleasure.
The previous evening I had ordered a one-day private car tour of Delhi – old and new. Everyone is eagerly awaiting my arrival to the lobby to get me on y way and I am offered pillows and blankets for the car which I kindly decline.
