Hotel Review: Wolas Villas, Seminyak

Having left our Ubud Villa halfway through our stay (see previous post) we decide to stay in the same place our friend has booked in Seminyak. We book on the day of arrival via booking.com and the rate isn’t too bad – about SG/AUD 180 per night for a 200 sqm pool villa, and around a 10 minute walk to the heart of Seminyak.

The villa is indeed beautiful – and quiet! Exactly what we were looking for, with a pretty big pool, lovely outdoor lounge area with kitchen, and internally, a large King-sized bed and sitting area in one section, with a separate bath, shower, and two wash basins in another section.

Free internet and a la carte breakfast is provided. The internet is fast and strong. The breakfast is not. In fact is it particularly slow and we need to ask numerous times for simple things like a spoon for our cereal, butter and jam for our toast. As friendly as the staff are, it is very frustrating at the same time. It is also not very good compared to restaurant choices in the surrounding area. On my 3rd day I am unable to eat my fried eggs as they are still in liquid form. I get the infamous ‘Bali Belly’ one day and I have an inkling it is from breakfast. But I could be wrong.

Would I stay here again? Undecided. Service and location are great. I would probably go for a non bed-and-breakfast option if I do. Or choose on of the millions of other villas available here.
