Taiwan still requires mandatory 15 days quarantine for all (non-Business) arrivals for citizens and their spouses, but thankfully only the first 8 days are in a government-sanctioned hotel, and then remainder can be done at your place of residence. For the first 8 days, we chose this hotel do the slightly cheaper cost and larger space.
We have booked a 2-bedroom Executive Suite at a cost of TWD38,000 for the full stay including 3 meals per day for 2 pax. I am not convinced this is a particularly great deal, but definitely the cheapest we could find considering the 49 SQM of space.

The suite is dated, but functional. The first room is used as storage for our luggage, and the second room as our bedroom. The combined Living/Dining room is equipped with a small kitchenette that has a mini-bar fridge, microwave, and stove. The main bedroom also has a flat screen TV and small work desk. There is no balcony, and the windows on partially open. But being on the 17th floor, the wind gushes in.
Now the food. Not good which is surprising for Taiwan. Daily Bento boxes that are either too bland or too salty. And no menu to choose from. And only Chinese food (no Western). Through numerous Line interactions with the hotel I try to request the odd Western meal but to no avail. We end up ordering many meals via FoodPanda instead. As this is my 3rd quarantine hotel stay in the past year in Taiwan, I am well aware of good quality vs. not……..

Would I choose this hotel again for another quarantine stay? Probably not. Although the space is great, the food is not. And I’m a foodie 🙂
