I am sitting in seat(s) 64 D-G on this Singapore Airlines Airbus A330-300 flight bound for Sydney. Yes – a whole row to myself! For a midnight ‘red-eye’ flight, I couldn’t be luckier. I feel. sorry for those people that paid an extra SG90 for an ‘extra leg-room’ seat. I got a bed for free.

I have purchased this one-way ticket to Sydney using about 25K Avianca miles (part of Star Alliance) and it has turned out to be a remarkably good flight.

As soon as the flight takes off, I literally lie down and sleep for 5 straight hours until I wake up about 2 hours before landing for breakfast. It is not bad – sticky rice, prawn dumplings, fruit salad and yogurt, and a coffee and OJ.

I watch an episode of Games of Thrones season 8 which completes as the plane lands ahead of schedule in Sydney.
