Holiday Inn, Silom, Bangkok

It is my first time to stay in this hotel, very close to where I used to live when I was working here.

King sized bed

Upon check-in I am upgraded from a standard double room, to a 1 bedroom suite, complete with 2 bathrooms (the ensuite is tiny) 2 TVs, and a seperate living area with work desk, lounge, and entry foyer.

The hotel itself is very busy, it seems to be fully occupied for each day of my stay. A key indicator is the busy breakfast buffet (included in my room rate). Breakfast is standard family buffet, with a much smaller selection than what you would find in a Hilton-branded hotel. Nonetheless, service is great at all touchpoint of the hotel.

Tiny bathroom

There is an adequate gym, less-than-adequate saltwater pool, and a steam room and sauna in the locker room.

To be honest, although I have been upgraded, and the service is pretty good, I am not sure if I would stay here again as it is a little further than expected from the main Silom drag, and it is in need of a refurbishment.
