This is my first time to stay at this hotel and my first time to Malacca. Its a long weekend in Singapore so decide to do a short trip.

The hotel itself is quite far away from the main tourist and cultural centre, but a shuttle bus is provided on a regular basis. I use it twice and decide to walk on other occasions.

I have booked a standard twin room using points and cash – it is 100% occupied being a long weekend and this is the only room available. But upon check-in although no upgrade is available, they are able to out me into a King room on a high floor. It is fine and quite large in any case.

The room is on the 23rd floor facing the city, with a shower, single basin, chiase lounge, and large TV with a number of channels. As an HHonors I get premium WiFi and breakfast included each morning. In addition to this is all day coffee and snacks in the Axis Lounge in lieu of an Executive Lounge.

The gym is pretty good, as are the steam room and sauna facilities, and the excellent pool with a view.

Moat importantly the staff are exceptional throughout.
