This would have to be one of the best flights I have taken to date.

Superb service, excellent food, and most importantly, undisturbed sleep for a straight 7 hours!

I am sitting in Royal Laural (Business) class seat 2G, in a 1-2-1 configuration, on this Taiwan-based Eva Airlines Boeing B777-300ER flight bound for Bangkok.

The flight is an upgrade on a discount Premium Economy ticket using 30,000 points. A real bargain.

The usual amenities are presented as soon as I sit down – hot wet towel, menu, a flute of Verve 2006 Champers, cool pajamas, face kit etc. , and a warm greeting by the friendly flight attendant.

The seat is truly awesome, extends into a very comfortable fully-flat bed, with a thick duvet, and mattress. All the usual connectivity plugs are in easy reach, and there is plenty of storage space.

I have chosen the Cod fish for my main for dinner, with a glass of French Medoc, followed by a Puh Er Chinese tea. Its all very good. Whist enjoying my dinner I watch the new Spiderman animation – a quirky modern take on the comic series.

I sleep literally in the clouds, for a full 7 hours. It would have to be the best sleep I have ever had onboard.

The next morning I wake up refreshed and choose the Taiwanese breakfast. It is excellent. My partner is Taiwanese and would be impressed (and possibly jealous as well 😉) .

A truly smooth flight. The only hiccup is a late departure result in a slightly late arrival (resulting in me missing an appointment).
