Flight Review: TG607 – HKG – BKK (Business Class)

I am sitting in seat 14B, a window seat on this Thai Airways Boeing 777-300ER flight bound for Bangkok. The configuration of the cabin is 1-2-1 and each seat has direct aisle access. There are mixed reviews on this suite, ranging from an amazing product to the fully-flat bed position being too narrow. As for me, I think it’s one of the best cabins I’ve flown in.

Drinks come around and I request a water. Whilst I’m waiting I browse through the dinner menu and decide to order the Western meal. I’m not really hungry and I am now starting to get tired from this week’s flying (and another flight tomorrow 😳). I also decode to stop my alcohol intake and have an Oolong tea instead.

I want to take advantage of the fully flat bed on this 2.5 hour flight and decide again not to watch any movies on the AV system, instead continue Origins, by Dan Brown, on my iPad during my meal.

Compared to my previous business class flight on Eva Air, service is down a notch or so; no individual greeting by the flight attendant nor too many smiles. Another example when I request a blanket; after a few minutes it is passed to me but not taken out of the plastic bag. A small detail but its done on Eva Air, and with a warm smile. Service is generally attentive and efficient, but not overly warm.

I manage to sleep for a little over an hour.
