This peaceful eco-friendly resort is about an hour away from the entrance to the Biwindi Impenetrable Forest, where we are based to go Gorilla Trekking.
A scary and possibly dangerous mountain road takes us to the resort where we are warmly greeted by the staff who offer us wet towels and juice.
I have reserved a single room which is essentially a stand-alone villa, and consists of a mosquito-net-covered double bed, shower and that’s about it. But it is the location that is magical.
Breakfast is basic, you can order eggs and pancakes to complement the buffet – just juice, coffee, fruit, and spreads. Dinner on the other hand is excellent, with a 3 course set-menu on offer.
Service is excellent, and all staff go out of their way to assist. The English manager also comes around and introduces herself to us and gives us advice about the gorilla trek.
A great stay.
