Flight Review: TG401 – BKK – SIN

I am sitting in Business Class seat 14F, a middle row seat in the 2-2-2 configured Boeing 777-200ER Thai Airways aircraft.

My flight attendant assigned to me warmly welcomed me on board and offers a pre-take-off drink; I choose a glass of Verve Champagne. He later comes around for a chat and asks if I used the lounge and told him no, this trip I used the Eva Air and SQ lounges. He agreed the Thai lounges need a facelift and said that was happening soon.

Again he comes around and asks why I would like for my post-take-off drink and meal. I request a vodka martini, followed by my meal consisting of Crab and Avacado Timbale as a starter, with the Salmon stuffed Prawn Mouse Chu-Chee sauce, and ending with the Thai Pudding with Mung Beans and An-Chan Coconut Fruit Tartlet (he says the ‘healthy dish’ might be a bit too oily).

Dinner is delicious and the service is exceptional. What a difference it is from my usual Thai Airways Economy and Business class.

I manage to lay down at nearly 180 degrees flat for about 45 mins and actually nod off. I am later woken up with a gentle smile at the very last minute before we land.

A pleasant flight and well worth the points.

Rating: 8.5/10

Update 1: due to lightening, the baggage takes forever so I don’t bother picking it up seeing a Long taxi queue and the time being almost midnight. The baggage attendant Uncle assures me it will go straight to lost and found and I will be able to pick it up tomorrow when I depart!

Fingers crossed!
