A very different experience from my one in Old Town, this hotel is about a 15 minute drive to the airport in the centre of nothing much, really. It seems to be part of a joint hotel complex with an older, smaller connecting hotel adjacent to it with some joint facilities like an outdoor pool but I am not sure.
I am upgraded to a suite on the first floor at check in by a member of the front office who has limited English capability and is struggling to explain but he tried very hard explaining the facilities of the hotel.
My room is huge, but with a strange layout. A long hallway leads to the bedroom with a bed, desk, and adjoining lounge room. The bathroom is huge with 2 double sinks, an open floor shower concept, and stand alone bathtub. Unfortunately the view is of the road.
A welcome gift of fruit and a half bottle of red is waiting for me which I enjoy with my room service dinner.
There is a Turkish style Hamman, thermal pool, jacuzzi, gym, sauna, steam room, and a number of themed massage rooms. There is a cost of 10 Lira for a compulsory swimming cap to use in the pool. It is all a little haphazard in terms of usage and cleanliness in the locker room.
The standout of my stay is the breakfast which is utterly amazing – such an awesome array of delicious Turkish and International food and of course this is free with my Diamond status.
I think with a bit more training in service and amenity usage this will be a great property.
