Hotel Review: Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

I really like this hotel. It is old school (wooden, dark, traditional), but it reminds me of hotels of yesterday.

On the plus side: immaculate, attentive service. Delicious food (I ate at both the Italian and Chinese restaurants), and a breakfast buffet spread that was so huge, I honestly got lost finding my way back to my table.

The room is a double-double (I am sharing with a friend) on the 26th floor with a nice view, and it is a very comfortable size. The bathroom has a separate bath and shower (always a plus), and all required amenities and in room facilities are present.
The spa and gym facilities are above expectations, and I use them each day of my stay. Steam room, Sauna, hot tub, cold tub, relaxation room, and fully decked-out gym is a welcome relief to hours of window shopping during the day.
I frequent the piano bar and enjoy an espresso martini and a number of other delectable cocktails each night (and during the day 😳) which is complemented with a pianist and/or Singer (depending on the time of the day) adding a musical note to the atmosphere.
The only negative thing to write about is the central air conditioning in the room which has a broken thermostat. Although the maintenance engineer takes a look he says the heating unit is broken so the extra thick duvet on the bed helps to get some sleep.
Nonetheless the hotel is recommended if you don’t want to be bang-smack in the middle of it all.
