*Hostel* Review:  Zamamia International Guesthouse, Zamami Island, Okinawa

My first review of a hostel. I’m really slumming it this time 😳. But actually it’s not too bad.

The owner is an American guy and as a result this is the only ‘foreign’ owned accommodation on the island.

Although a hostel with bunk beds, I opt for a private twin room which shares the toilet and shower facilities with all guests. There is absolutely nothing in the room except for 2 single beds, an aircon, and a fan. But the bed is comfy and I sleep well.

The shower rooms are sparse with no amenities but there is hot water which is a blessing.

The hostel runs as a restaurant by day and the cooking smell from the kitchen exhumes spoke throughout. Grateful to have a door to keep that out.

With high season on the island during our one night stay, there are no other options but at the end of the day it’s a place to put our head down for the night.

We leave first thing in the morning.
