Flight Review: SQ 948 – SIN – DPS

Today I am sitting in a Business Class seat, 14H – 3 rows from the front of the plane, on this Airbus A330-300. The ticket was paid for using 22500 points and +\- SG $100 – a bargain really.

Upon boarding we I am offered a selection of magazines and newspapers, which I decline, as well as a glass of Heidsieck Brut Reserve Champagne, which I also decline, as I want to enjoy some of the cocktails offered on board later during the short flight.

Prior to take-off we receive the obligatory wet towel and dinner order. I pre-ordered ‘Book The Cook’ – going for Lobster Thermidor again this flight. My drink of choice is the ‘Jubilee Lining’ described in the menu as ‘…a zesty Cocktail created with orange liquor, vodka, pineapple juice, topped with soda’.

The lobster is served and unfortunately it is quite bland. I try to add salt but nothing comes out of the dispenser. Oh well, luckily I’m not that hungry thanks to some snacks earlier in the lounge.

I watch ‘The Intern’ during the flight – have been wanting to watch it for a while and am not disappointed. Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro are a great combination on the screen.

Service is quick, efficient, but not overly personable. I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
