Hotel Review: DoubleTree By Hilton Johor Bharu

This is my 3rd stay here and it just keeps on getting better. From the welcome I receive by name as I enter the lobby, the upgrade to a one-bedroom suite, friendly enthusiastic staff, delicious food in the Executive lounge and Makan Kitchen – DoubleTree By Hilton Johor Bharu has it all for the perfect weekend away from Singapore.

I come here this time with 2 friends and we take advantage of the swimming pool, steam room, gym, and hot tub to relax the week away, before doing a bit of shopping prior to drinks and canapés in the executive lounge.

Thanks to the advice of a staff member in the lobby lounge, we make our way to the JB Arts Festival in the evening to see an Indian singing and dance troupe with is a pleasant injection of culture during our trip. The night markets nearby the hotel is our next stop before a very late night supper in an Indian restaurant a few doors away.

The next morning after a quick work out in the gym, we meet for breakfast in Makan Kitchen and feel like gluttonous pigs trolling through the most delicious breakfast buffet this side of the Causeway Bridge.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – you gotta come and stay here!
