The Qantas Singapore Lounge, Changi Terminal 1

OK so for those of you who read my blog (and thank you if you do πŸ™‚ ), you will know I rate this lounge very highly!

Tonight though, was somewhat different to my usual experience. The lounge staff came up to me and welcomed me back – like literally ‘Welcome back, Mr. Blackman’ and I am like, ‘Thank you….(awkward pause) What is your name again?’ πŸ™‚

The Duty Manager, Michelle, tells me she is from Calcutta, and we have a little chat about how I went to India for the first time a couple of months ago for work and back again at the end of January. She says I should take some warm clothes as it will be cold at that time of year. She has an errand to run but says she will be back for some chitchat later on. Sweet.

The food is not as spectacular as I remember the last time. The minute steak and cauliflower doesn’t donut for me, and the Sambal squid is ‘orangey’ in taste so I pass on the feedback when asked which seems to be appreciated – tonight is the first night of this new menu.

My two favorite bartenders are still there pouring their famous Espresso Martinis and somehow we get around to the conversation of the type of people (guests) that frequent this lounge. I kind of state they are nobody ‘special’ in particular and that the reason most of them are here is because of the number of flights they take due to their companies paying for them for work. One states most are boring and ‘up themselves’ and I couldn’t agree more πŸ™‚

Anyway a few drinks down and a reasonably full stomach, and I am ready to board for more fun πŸ™‚
