Not the fault of Cathay but this flight is full. Sitting in an exit row aisle seat in a 2-4-2 seating configuration near the back of the plane, I only wish I could have been upgraded – even to PE.

Although I have ordered a special meal, it did not come as my original flight had been cancelled due to bad weather out of Beijing, and the systems didn’t communicate. As a result I have a pretty sub-standard meal – which is unusual for Cathay – renowned for it’s better quality of in-flight food.

The entertainment system is good though, and I settle back to a movie before dozing off into a constantly interrupted sleep thanks to the baby crying in the next section.

Breakfast a few hours later is slightly better – probably as I choose the Asian version – chicken congee, as opposed to the standard sausages and rubbery eggs.

Service is good.
