Hotel Review: Beijing Grand Millennium

I am familiar with this brand (including Copthorne and Kingsgate) from my travels in New Zealand but didn’t realise it was prominent in Asia.

Well this would have to be one of the best city 5-star hotels I have had the pleasure to stay at.

My room is an entry-level ‘Deluxe’ room and it is huge on the 18th floor with sweeping views of the city, separate bath and shower, huge king sized bed, 42″ TV, large work desk, slippers, bathrobe and electronic blinds.

The fitness centre and pool is the best I have ever seen – and the sauna/steam facilities are great.

The restaurant serves an amazing buffet breakfast that is up there with Conrad and Westin – seemingly endless in the variety of dishes on offer.

The service is generally good – some language issues over the phone but I am told by a Chinese colleague that this is common at all hotels.

The hotel manager, Jan, is an exceptional host and is quick to respond to a question regarding my gold loyalty status.

Highly recommended!
