Hotel Review – The Excelsior Hotel, Causeway Way, Hong Kong

All in all I have been quite impressed with this hotel – a stark contrast to my initial impression queuing-up for 15 mins just to check-in. After 4 nights the hotel grows on you – and the key factor here is the service.

Being part of the Mandarin Oriental chain, this hotel is probably one of their ‘lower grade’ hotels, but try constant attention to detail makes it a five-star property. The real only downfall is the lack if a swimming pool.

I am upgraded on check-in to a Harbour View room on the 27th and it is very spacious and well appointed. And the view overlooking. Hong Kong Harbour is to die for.

I order Room service 3 times and each time the service is wonderful but the food doesn’t match….

The bar on the top floor is fabulous and there is an international cover act playing. Again service is too notch.

A great stay.
