Hotel Review: Hotel Resonance Taipei, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Taipei

This is my first stay at the Tapestry brand by Hilton. At first glance from outside, it reminds me of an Aloft hotel; modern, sharp, concrete, with plenty of colour inside and a ‘branded perfume’ smell.

Check-in is interesting, as the front desk person explains how to use the app I am asked to download in order to utilise many of the services and facilities offered. For example breakfast can be pre-ordered only via the app at the adjoining Starbucks (there is no dedicated on site restaurant).

My booked standard room using 29K Hhonors points is upgraded to a King Times Suite – about 60 Square metres and architecturally interesting – wooden and concrete with huge windows, 2 TVs, automated blinds, seperate living space, and work area.

Huge floor to ceiling windows
Bathtub and separate shower
A very spacious suite

Due to Covid there are no evening canapés or cocktails but beer and mixed nuts are served for Diamond members in a room only accessible by room card.

I use the gym in the evening and the next morning. It has pretty good standard equipment which is fine for an overnight stay.

Complimentary Diamond breakfast is pre-ordered via the app – it is overpriced starbucks, all pre-made, and not particularly good.

I had booked another night this week but have decided to cancel and stay at Hilton Banciao instead (see earlier review).
