Wow – the cold war still exists or so it seems with this Stalin-era gothic building from the 1950s. One of 7 built and 1 of 2 that is a hotel (the other being a Raddisson).
Upon check-in we are upgraded to a Twin Executive Suite which is essentially an oversized studio with seperate bath and shower, twin beds, and TV. Pretty bland but fits into the Soviet feel and decor. The gift from the general manager is a nice touch.
Over the next 2 days we utilise the pool, spa, and gym, and lounge for breakfast and evening Vodka cocktails and canapes. The food and service is very Russian…but friendly!
All in all a great stay.
