Flight Review: TG975 – BKK – DME

I am sitting in Business Class seat 12A, a window seat and second row from the front on this Thai Airways Boeing 777-200 aged aircraft bound for Moscow!

Our departure time is delayed a little over an hour which causes major issues and flight cancellations/issues for my next onward flight to St Petersburg but that’s another story.

Once on board all is calm and relaxed. I am greeted by name at the door and shown to my ‘angle-lie flat’ seat, with an empty one next to me. Drinks are soon brought around and I begin with a glass of Verve Clique and a hot wet towel.

Shortly after take-off more more drinks and nuts; this time a glass of Montagny Buissonnier 2014 (Chardonnay).

T

here are two meal services and for the first we are given an entree of ‘Two Pepper and Champagne Foie Gras with Polenta Toast Caramalised Green Apple and Onion marmalade – super delicious); and I choose the Penang Curry for my main. Dessert is an OK New York Cheesecake with Pear Compote. A 2015 Medoc goes well with this.

I manage to sleep for about 3 hours in my ‘angle-lie flat seat’ and wake up peckish so order a tea and piece of fruit cake.

Second meal service comes around a little over an hour before we land. I choose the I international menu for my main and enjoy this with a glass of Canard-Duchene Leonie Brut Rose. It is delicious.

We land an hour late and as a result miss my connecting flight to St Petersburg.
