I am sitting in Business Class seat 11B, an aisle seat on this Thai Airways Boeing 777-200 aircraft bound for Hanoi. Being the first row on the plane, my partner and I are served the hot moist towel and welcome drinks first. I choose the Canard-Duchene Leonie Brut Rose, and then another. My partner has a glass of Bruce Clicquot Brut NV.
Shortly after take-off the meal service comes around quicker than you can blink an eye. Trays up, tablecloth set, tray placed down. Today’s menu is a main course of Pan-fried Halibut with Olive tomato sauce (minus the squid ink spaghetti) and a ‘salady’ entree. Not bad. The dessert is a standout – Dulcey Chocolate Panna Cotta with Apricot Jam. Awesome. Dinner goes well with 2 small glasses of Chateau Maucoil 2015 red.
Now the ‘fun’ part……..
So I ask for a pair of headphones so I can watch a program on the over sized Business Class AV screen. But I am told there are no headsets available on short flights. Umm hello? This is Business Class. No headphones? Yeah, right.
The menu is interesting. The same menu from a few months ago when I wrote about the red wines being….and I quote from the beverage menu, “Enjoy(ed) now with food!” and “…you could do much worse at this price” has been non-discreetly covered over with paper wipe out. And…oops – doubling-up of ‘Port Wine Cockburns’ – written twice just in case 🙂
Thanks to the lovely service of some of the flight attendants, the rating is higher than I would normally give for these mishaps.
