The directions on the website from the airport to the hotel via public transport and fairly simple and we navigate our way to the check-in deal in no time.
  Check-in is more of an ordeal as the front desk attendant seems unusually flustered and check-in isn’t as smooth as the journey to get here.

We are fortunately upgraded to a junior suite – which doesn’t have a bathtub but the separate living room is large enough and the bed comfy. Interestingly no welcome card/letter from the GM or welcome amenities that Diamond Hhonors members usually receive.
   

 No pool or sauna/steam room but the 24hr gym is large and functional and enjoy an early morning workout knowing I’ll be eating for the rest of the day.
The executive lounge offers a small assortment of snacks and drinks which we try in the evening before heading out to La Rambla.
Breakfast the next morning is good. Large selection and service as expected.
If I return to Barcelona I will try the other Hilton a few kms away.
