About 1 km from its sister hotel, the Old Town is a beautiful property located about 4 mins walk to the famous Powder Gate/Tower, which is essentially the entrance to the Old part of Prague (or ‘older’ as it is old pretty much anywhere you go 😀).
We arrive at the hotel super early and are told our upgraded King Suite is not ready yet, but will be in the afternoon so we leave our bags and come back around 3.30pm. At the desk I am attended to in a somewhat unfriendly manner by Adrianna, a Front Office Supervisor, who doesn’t seem to want to be at work today. Nonetheless as soon as I ask her how her day is as she is clearly not interested in mine, she sees my Hhonors status and does a 180 and is suddenly extremely kind. My partner who checks in later on gets the same treatment.
Nonetheless the room is lovely, on the 9th (top) floor, with a separate living room to the bedroom. There is a fruit platter, slice of Apple Strudel with passion fruit yoghurt, and a card from the GM welcoming me.
As we are only staying for one night and there is plenty to do in Prague, we don’t spend too much time at the hotel except for the Lounge for afternoon tea, & canapés and cocktails in the evening, and a quick dip in the tiny pool. I use the gym before breakfast the next morning and it is excellent.
This is a good hotel for a base whilst staying in Prague and for exploring Old Town.
