I have managed to secure 2 business class saver award tickets on Singapore Airlines. My partner and I are sitting in seats 12 K and 12 H in a 2-2-2 configuration on this Boeing 777 aircraft.  

As we make ourselves comfortable in our angle-lie-flat seats, a flight attendant comes around offering us a choice of drinks; we choose champagne and soon after receive a hot wet towel. Singapore Airlines has a vast array of in-flight movies and, using the noise canceling headphones provided, I begin watching ‘Insurgent’ – part two of the ‘Divergent’ series on one of the largest in-flight video monitors I have seen.

Not long after takeoff and the seatbelt sign is extinguished, my pre-ordered dinner arrives on a large tray. Thanks to Singapore Airlines ‘book the cook’ my dinner tonight is Lobster Thermidor. It is delicious served in its shell on a bed of saffron rice and a scallop salad on the side. Dessert is a strawberry cheesecake which I enjoy with a double Baileys.

   
   Having had plenty to drink in the lounge prior to boarding I am overcome with exhaustion and slight inebriation so take advantage of the angle-lie flat seat to take a nap for well over an hour on this short 2.5 hour flight.

The service overall is quite good -consistent with Singapore Airlines. My only disappointment is the lack of a drink being offered during my meal. A crisp white would have complimented the Lobster well. Perhaps they were short-staffed or being such a quick flight extremely busy?
