I am the first on the plane ignoring the announcement for passengers with children and those in rows 1 and 2. No one is moving so I do. I am not stopped or questioned so move with an air of confidence.
I am in row 7, seat D – an aisle on this 3 x 3 Airbus A320 flight to Kuala Lumpur. The flight is quite full – I did request the 1st row after the security scan but was told the closest seat to the front was 3B – a middle seat, so I declined. Still happy though that I am relatively close to the front for easy disembarkation.
I have my iPad with me knowing that there is no free entertainment on Jetstar, and in any case, being a one-hour flight, I take it as a good opportunity to catch up on some overdue reading of my novel which my book club has chosen for this month – “All that is solid melts into air” by Darragh McKeoh.
Before we know it the announcement pipes through that we are going to land.
