I have booked this 4* hotel in District 1 in Ho Chi Minh via Agoda for about USD80 per night including breakfast.

My original room on the 2nd of 12 floors is large with a bathtub, but has no window. That doesn’t work for me so I go down to reception and they promptly change my room to a somewhat smaller one with no bathtub on the 11th (Executive Floor) with a huge wall window that opens. Happier.

The room itself is ok, all the usual amenities one would expect, except the walls or doors are thin and I can hear noises late into the evening. Also the aircon doesn’t seem to warm up so it’s constantly cold. Not good for me when sleeping.

Breakfast is a typical buffet – looks better than it is – the breads and cakes are stale on all 3 days.

There is a nice pool and OK gym – both of which I use but not for long as it is so hot outside at the moment in HCM.

Would I stay here again? Probably not. I think I’ll try another district next time.
