I am originally booked in seat 1A on this Air India Boeing 787 red-eye flight bound for Bangkok, but as I hand over my boarding pass at the gate, there is a long beep and I am told my seat has been changed to 1J, as the original seat booked is broken. Great start. Strike #1.

As it is nearly 2am, upon sitting down in my newly assigned seat, all I want to do is sleep (no meals for me) and ask the flight attendant for an amenity pack and earplugs. I am told apologetically that none were loaded. Strike #2.

I try to sleep. But noisy kid at the back of business class. Strike #3.

Three strikes and Air India is out this time.
