I am sitting in Business Class seat 1A on this Avianca A320 flight from New York to Guayaquil (Ecuador). I am the last one to board the plane (my timing was wrong) and I am shown to my seat, although it is right by the entrance to the plane.

The seat is slightly wider than intra-Europe Business class, and there is no one next to me So it feels more spacious. There is a bag with a pillow and a blanket, a welcome card, bottled water, and an amenity kit.
Shortly after our 2:10am take-off we are offered 2 choices of breakfast – Omelette or Crepe. I wasn’t going to choose anything but the idea of a crepe at 20000 feet is intriguing so I order that (I’m a bit worried as I haven’t eaten a proper meal for nearly 48 hours due to what I now believe is food poisoning). It is delicious, filled with cream cheese and served with jam.

The flight is about 6-hours so once I finish my meal I stretch out and sleep. On and off for a few hours.
Service is friendly and quiet – which is good as I don’t want to be woken up as I’m behind the galley.
