Flight Review: CI51 – TPE – SYD

I am sitting in row 67, seatS D,E, F, and G – a whole row, on this China Airlines 777-300ER flight bound from Taipei to Sydney.

I am very lucky to have a whole row but the flight is only half full. And furthermore this is an QANTAS redemption flight – so it is a very rare flight indeed. The cabin is fresh and clean. I think it might be a new aircraft.

Boarding and take-off are on time, and I notice the friendliness of the crew almost immediately. Drinks are served as soon as we are at cruising altitude and then our meal / a choice of ‘surf and turf’ or Hungarian Goulash. I go for the S&T and it tastes quite good.

During dinner, which is midnight my time by the way, I watch the new Jurassic World franchise but shortly after I finish my meal I lie down on the 4 seats and sleep uninterrupted for about 6 hours.

I wake up refreshed to breakfast – noodles – and just chill for the next hour before we land.
