Hotel Review: Allegra Hotel, Zurich

My flight was cancelled at the gate and I had to find a hotel quickly – my first stay was at the Hilton Zurich Airport and the second night is here. And what a wonderful hotel it is.

I book through Klook and arrive at 12pm and am told by the extremely friendly front office staff that although check-in is at 2pm with a generous 12pm check-out, I can enter my room at 1pm. So I hang around in the beautiful lobby with free coffee and water and internet for about 45 mins before getting my room key. There is also free use of the printer via WiFi which I use to print out all my documents required to apply for insurance for my cancelled flights.

The room is bright, wooden, and spacious. Lots of light variations and USB sockets, free sparkling and still water in the fridge, and TV packed with cable.

There is a gym which I don’t use and although breakfast isn’t included, I can get an early ‘express’ breakfast before 7am for 8 Swiss Francs (instead of 25 for a full buffet breakfast).

Throughout my stay the staff are exceedingly friendly. It’s one of the best stays if not the best I’ve had in my so-far 6-week trip.
