Hotel Review: Ibis Budget, Tbilisi, Georgia

I have booked this hotel on Klook using vouchers I still had from my previous company, so my 4-night stay is essentially free.

Funky Lobby

The hotel is situated in the Old Town district of Tbilisi, and conveniently only a 5 min walk to the Soviet-era underground station.

My room is on the 2nd of 4 floors with a view to the courtyard. It is compact but manages to fit in a double bed. What I think is a cupboard is actually storage for a pull-down bed, so hanging clothes is done on a rack by the entrance. The only amenity is a combined hand-wash/body-soap/shampoo dispenser in the bathroom and shower.

Nonetheless it is practically soundproof, the bed is comfortable, and there is even a window that opens allowing fresh air in. There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby, so the location is a bonus.

My friend’s room includes breakfast which he doesn’t utilize, so on the last morning I have it instead. It’s not bad – a mixture of local and the usual offerings buffet-style.

All in all it’s a practical hotel for a few days sightseeing in Tbilisi.
