This gorgeous Riad hidden in the maze of the old Medina of Fez has a very high rating on the various booking sites, and as soon as you enter, it’s understandable. The service from the staff is excellent- genuine smiles, interest, helpful, nothing is too difficult.

Mohammed greets me at the door and takes me upstairs to the lounge where he offers me mint tea and cookies, and like a tour guide, spends a good 10 minutes introducing me to the Medina. He pulls out and marks a map, highlighting points of interest. Then he takes me to my room.
It is beautiful. A single bed in a small room, but carefully decorated to feel like there is a lot more space. The bathroom has all the amenities needed and there is aircon and strong WiFi.

Both Laundry, and tea/coffee served throughout the day, is complimentary, and a good breakfast is included, served on the rooftop terrace with an amazing 360 degree view of the old city.

There are only a handful of guests staying here over the 2 nights I am here and as they are out touring for most of the day it feels like my own private villa.
And the cherry on top? The cost. It’s only about USD20 per night! An absolute bargain.
An amazing stay and if I return, this is where I’ll stay.
