Hotel Review: La Miniera Villas Pattaya, an SLH Hotel, Pattaya

The only reason why we decide to stay 2 nights at this hotel is that we are pretty sure they have made a mistake with their points redemption – only 35K points per night whereas their paid standard rate is around THB 10,000 per night (about USD350) per night. So we grab it! A second reason is that Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) has just been taken over by Hilton, and we are eager to try this new brand.

Otherwise we’d have no reason whatsoever to come to Pattaya.

The hotel is located in the most bizarre location – right off the exit ramp of a busy highway, and a good 15 mins drive to the action and nightlife of Pattaya Beach area. In other words there is absolutely nothing in the immediate walking vicinity of the resort.

Our upgraded room, nonetheless, is pretty amazing. Huge by hotel standards with a lap pool inside the room! The terrace outside leads directly to the pool outside with swim-up bar.

Facility-wise, there is nothing much here – no gym or activities do take part in, just these weird ‘buggies’ that you can drive around the resort – we timed it – it takes all of 5 minutes to circle the resort.

Breakfast is included as an Hhonors Diamond member, and it is delicious, with a wide assortment of local and international delights. Sitting outside overlooking the landscaped garden is a real treat.

Love the plates!

The highlight besides the pool is the service. The staff here are lovely – always greeting and smiling and seeking any help they can give.

Would I stay here again? Probably not, as I have no plans to ever visit Pattaya again.
