I am sitting in window seat 43A, with no seat in front of me for extra legroom, on this Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900 flight bound for Male in The Maldives from Singapore.

Shortly after landing a hot towel service begins then drinks with nuts. Lunch follows but although my seat is at the front of Economy, it arrives last and when it does, there is only fish left which I decline and ask for something from Premium Economy which I get. It is a chicken breast thigh on sweet potato mash which looks great but I think it is off as it smells a bit funny so leave it. An ice cream bar follows and then I pop into the bathroom to clean my teeth, put on my eye mask l, and go to sleep.

Only to be woken up shortly after with a birthday cake and champagne from the crew which I warmly accept (but don’t drink the champagne).

I clean my teeth again and fall back asleep for an hour or so before the captain announces an imminent landing.

We land slightly ahead of schedule.
