I am sitting in seat 43K, a window seat with no seat in front (an extra legroom seat) on this Singapore Airlines Airbus A380-800 flight bound for Sydney from Singapore. It is a horrible red eye flight leaving at 00.45AM and it is full.

After we exit from the gate the Captain announces there is a technical issue that needs to be checked by ground engineers so we have to return to the gate where we wait onboard for over 45 mins before we get clearance to try again.
Shortly after take-off the hot towel, drinks and supper service apparently begins but I am attempting to sleep with eyemask and pillows strategically tucked around my body for extra comfort which doesn’t actually work.
Throughout the night I try to sleep on and off. It is miserable. Finally at about 0800 the cabin lights turn on and it’s breakfast time.
For breakfast I choose the Singapore Carrot Cake with prawns which is tasty and plentiful comes with cut fruit and yogurt. I also get a decaf coffee which is bitter.

One dissapointing factor of the flight are the disgusting toilets. They stink and are unclean. I don’t think they are attended to by the flight attendants during the whole flight.
And on the subject of the SQ flight attendants, they are in all other ways perfect. Exceptional service, friendly, and eager to please (except for cleaning the filthy toilets).
I hate overnight flights in economy, so my score for this flight:
Rating: 6.5/10
