I am sitting in window seat 53A on this brand new China Airlines A321neo flight from Taipei to Da Nang. The first thing I notice is how huge the economy AV screens are – a good telltale sign of how things are going to be on this 3 hour flight.

As soon as we board I fall asleep and wake up about an hour later to my pre-ordered Kosher meal being delivered. That was a mistake. It really is not good. And the same menu I always get. Fish, couscous, chocolate mousse, stewed rhubarb. The scary part is the use-by date – Dec 2025! This is the last time I will order it.

I watch ‘The Miracle’ for the next hour and a bit during and post dinner before falling back to sleep for another hour, only to be woken up for the ‘we are about to land’ announcement.

We land on time.
